What the Entire Pack is "Doing" Together...

New Year, New Way to Scout!

posted Aug 27, 2020, 3:36 PM by Pack Webmaster

Pack 529 has been working hard to figure out how to best serve the needs of its scouts and families. With concerns about the virus and how the pack will function and still keep your scout(s) traveling on their scouting adventure, we are excited to tell you we will be using Zoom till such time we are able to physically meet.
Please know, meeting in person may occur during the year and if we do, know that the pack will do all it can to meet the social distancing guidelines.
It's hard and frustrating, but please work with us and help make this an awesome year for everyone.

If there are any questions or concerns, please reach out and let us know!

I wish our scouts, leaders, and families an amazing year!

Many thanks to everyone that participated in our Blue & Gold Banquet.  And special thanks to all of you that helped setup and clean up afterwards.  Dave Germana pulled together a fun and special program, for which we are grateful.  Many thanks also to our very officially new Cubmaster Michael Reedy for offering a great meal once again.

2015 Pinewood Derby
Thank you race fans for joining us for another exciting Pack 529 Pinewood Derby.  We fought through some technical issues, but were able to complete another fun and competitive PWD.  Special congratulations to the Walshe family, who completed the trifecta, placing 1, 2, 3 overall.  It seems we have a PWD dynasty in the making.  Race results are posted on the Pinewood Derby page and pictures will be posted soon (please send some in).

Holy Cross Playground Cleanup Project
It was time for Pack 529 to show its appreciation to Holy Cross for being our chartered organization.  Without their support we
would not have a home.  Several scouts showed up Saturday morning to help clean toys, sift debris out of the sandbox, spread mulch, rake sand, pick up trash, paint, and just overall spruce up the playground area.  Thanks for coming out.  Click here for photos.

SunRail Trip with Rep. Mica

Our first SunRail trip downtown is in the books and oh what an adventure it was.  First off, we were joined by Congressman John Mica for the SunRail ride downtown.  He also joined us for lunch at Subway and for some historical story telling at the Orange County Regional History Center.  We were also joined downtown by former Pack 529 Eagle Scout Tom Larsen (thanks Tom!).  We toured the History Center, which was quite impressive.  This is a great way to get a quick or thorough lesson on the history of Central Florida.  SunRail proved to be a great way for us to get around on the summer adventure.  We had 12 scouts in attendance.  Check back in the photo gallery for pictures of the event.
