Participate in the Longwood Christmas Parade

Participation is open to Pack 529, Troop 529, Troop 854, and their families.

Date, Time & Location

Date: Saturday, December 7, 2024

Arrival Time: Plan to arrive by 2pm so you can find parking and have time to walk to our line-up location. Parade participants must arrive at our designated line-up staging location no later than 2:30pm. 

Arrival Location: Staging for parade participants will be along Ronald Reagan Blvd. Our leaders will be assigned a line-up number and staging location at check-in shortly before the event. Please await a message from your leader(s) as to our assigned line-up number/location. 

Parade Time: The parade begins promptly at 3 p.m. and will occur rain or shine, so please come prepared.

RSVP: Please RSVP via ScoutBook so we can have a list of who we can expect to join us.

Important Details

Attire: FULL Class A uniforms for all Scouts and Leaders; Class B for family members; and closed toe, closed heel shoes are required (no flip flops, Crocs, sandals, slides). You may wear festive headwear (e.g., reindeer antler headbands, Santa hats, etc.).

Supplies & Preparation: Wear sun protection (sunscreen, hat) and bring water and a snack. Be sure to use the restroom before coming as access to restroom/port-o-potty facilities may be limited.

Parade Rules: By participating, you are agreeing to the Parade Rules. Do not throw candy, it must be handed out directly, and be sure to demonstrate Scout-like behavior at all times. 

Parking: Legal street parking is permitted anywhere other than within the parade route. The following free public parking lots may be accessible: Reiter Park, Orlando Hospital lot, and the SunRail lot & parking garage. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking in private parking lots without the express permission of the owner or affiliated business merchant is strictly prohibited.

Road Closures: Please note that the following roads will be closed during the event from approximately 12pm to 5pm. You will need to find alternate routes and parking so please plan accordingly.

• CR 427 (Ronald Reagan Boulevard) between the intersection of Longwood Hills Road and State Road 434 

• W Warren Ave. from CR 427 to Milwee St.

• W Church Ave. from CR 427 to Milwee St.
  Wilma St. from E Bay Ave. to W Church Ave.
