Getting started is easy: Get familiar, register, purchase your uniform, and join us!
Get Familiar With Scouting & Our Pack
Step 1
Learn more about Cub Scouts, time commitment, costs, review the guiding documents and parent/family info and resources which are available on our Pack 529 Resources page, and check out the information that is available on our website. Doing so will help you become familiar with what to expect and know some of the resources that are available to you as a family. Have some lingering questions? Contact us and we'll be happy to assist you!
Register for Cub Scouts
Step 2
Sign up! Registration can occur at any time throughout the year; however, Scouts are encouraged to join early in the school year so they have the most opportunity to connect with their Den and Pack and to complete the requirements for their rank advancement. Getting started later in the school year? Don't fret; there will be opportunities to catch up and earn your rank!
Purchase Your Uniform
Step 3
Uniforms are an essential part of how the Scouting Program is delivered. Scouts are categorized into Ranks or Dens and each Rank has different parts of their uniform. The uniforms identify us as being part of the Scouting Program and unifies us as a Pack and Den, while also displaying our individual rank, progress, and achievements. The uniform also helps Scouts practice cleanliness, which is one of the Scout Laws, as we practice being neat and clean in our appearance.
Join Us!
Step 4
Attend meetings as scheduled in our Events Calendar. During your first visit, be sure to find an adult leader in a uniform. We'll be sure to welcome you, help you meet our Leadership Team and connect with your Den Leader so you can learn more about your Den, Rank, and help you get started.
Don't have a uniform yet? We know it can sometimes take a few weeks to get it. Join us anyway so you can get started!

Scout Recruitment
Scout Information Nights
You will often find that Cub Scout programs may offer special information meetings at local schools where we discuss our program and offer signups to join Scouts. You are encouraged to come see us at one of those meetings; however, please know that you do not need to wait for one of those meetings to join Cub Scouts! You are welcome to join us at any time throughout the year. If you have questions about the program that you'd like to discuss before joining, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist.

Be sure to note the Scout's name who recruited you when you sign up.
Scouts who recruit others who sign up for Scouting will earn a special Recruiter patch strip that they can proudly display on their uniform!
