When there's no school, there's no Scouts. Pack 529 likes to keep our Scouts connected over the summer, though, so we plan a few summer events!
The Central Florida Council also offers Cub Scout Summer Day Camps.
Anytime from May through August, attend a minimum of three (3) Cub Scout events or attend a week-long Cub Scout Summer Day Camp to earn this special adventure

Flag Retirement Ceremony
Attend or Participate in the 2026 Scouts in the Community Flag Retirement Ceremony
Date: Sunday, June 14, 2026 (two time and location options)
Time: 10am (Reiter Park in Longwood) or 4pm at the American Legion Post 243 in Oviedo)

Details: Central Florida Council's Seminole District is hosting a flag retirement ceremony which combines both ceremonial and educational information regarding how to properly retire U.S. Flags. to both Scouting participants and the community. This event will be entirely led and conducted by Scouts from multiple units with adult leader supervision. All Scouting Units are invited to attend and participate. This event is also open to the public, who are encouraged to attend as well.
Attire: Class A uniform is required if actively participating in the ceremony and highly encouraged if attending as an observer.
Transportation & Parking: Transportation and parking are on your own.
Special Notes: If a Scout actively participates in the ceremony as a Scout (not just attending/observing), it can count as “service” for Liberty in Action special patch. To report your involvement for Liberty in Action credit, parents should contact Cubmaster Rick Stone after the event and share a photo of the Scout's involvement and/or a short written information from the Scout about their experience. (Please note: Scouts cannot email an adult leader without another adult, such as a parent, being included in correspondence. It is is preferred that the parent email directly with this information; or the Scout must copy their parent on the email.)
Movie & S'mores Night
Date: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Time: 7pm to approx. 9:30pm
Location: Neighborhood Alliance Church (Annex Building)
Cost: Free!
Details: Dinner is not provided, so please eat first. S'mores supplies and refreshments will be provided. At 7pm, we will begin making s'mores at the fire pit near the church annex, then we'll go inside the annex building to watch a movie. (Movie Title TBA; it will either be rated G or PG.)
Attire: Dress comfortably (appropriate PJs are okay) and bring a pillow and blanket.

Independence Day Celebration/America 250 Event
Attend any Independence Day celebration and/or participate in an America 250 event (listed here or elsewhere) of your choice.

If a Scout attends an Independence Day event and sings “Happy Birthday” to America, it may count toward Requirement 4 (“Happy Birthday, America!”) of the Liberty in Action special patch.
If a Scout participates in an America250 event, it may count toward Requirement 4 (“America250 Event”) of the Liberty in Action special patch.

Back to Scouts Bowling
Date: Sunday, August 2, 2026
Time: 3pm to 5pm

Cost: Free for Scouts!*
Details: Two (2) hours of bowling, shoe rental, drinks, and snacks are provided for all Scouts. You are also welcome to purchase additional food or drinks at your own expense if desired.
* Adults and siblings who RVSP and attend should expect to pay for their own bowling, shoe rental costs, food, and drinks.

Every June and July, the Central Florida Council hosts at least one week of summer day camp in each district.* The Cub Scout Day camp is for Cub Scouts entering 1st grade through 5th grade. Tigers (1st graders) are required to have an adult partner attend camp with them. Experiences may include: Target & Range Sports, Games, Scout Skills, NEW Cub Scout Program Adventure Electives, STEM, Crafts, Special Guests, and More!
There is currently no Summer Day Camp in Seminole District. Scouts are welcomed to sign up for camps in other districts, however.
