Pack 529 resumes regular meetings on Mon. 8/17/26! Come join us!
Connecting to your Cub Scout's Scoutbook profile gives you a much better view of their Scouting progress and makes it easier to stay involved. Depending on how your pack uses Scoutbook, the benefits typically include:
Track advancement: See which adventures your Scout has completed, what's still in progress, and what requirements remain. You can also see your child's advancement history throughout their Cub Scout journey
View awards and achievements: Keep a record of ranks, adventure loops or pins (where applicable), special awards, and other recognitions.
Approve or record activities: Some dens allow parents to enter completed requirements or approve items completed at home, while leaders review and finalize them.
Stay informed about meetings and events: You can see upcoming den meetings, pack meetings, campouts, and other activities, and get email reminders for select events.
Maintain your Scout's information: You may be able to update certain personal or contact details.
Check account balances: If the pack uses Scoutbook's Payment Logs, you can view the Scout's account balance, including Individual Scout Account (ISA) balances and transactions, helping them keep track of what is owed or available for Scouting expenses.
Connecting your account also helps leaders because they can communicate with parents more easily and coordinate advancement without relying on paper records.
The parent/guardian who registers their Scout with Scouting America is automatically issed a Scouting America Member ID (as a parent/guardian) and they automatically are granted the ability to access their Scout's information in ScoutBook Plus/the Scouting App.
The second parent/guardian must obtain a Scouting America Member ID, then be manually added to the Scout's profile either by the parent/guardian already connected to the Scout or by a member of the unit's Key 3.
To add a second parent/guardian, follow these steps:
Second Parent Being Added to Scout:
Create an account at https://my.scouting.org/ and provide the necessary information.
Obtain a Scouting America Membership ID.
Existing Parent/Guardian Connected to the Scout:
Navigate to Scoutbook Plus at: https://advancements.scouting.org/
Select ‘Profile’ on the Navigation Bar on the left.
Select child from the “Parents/Guardians For” list.
Under “Relationships” on the left, select the Plus icon, opening the “Parent/Guardian Invitation” pop-up box.
Select the middle tab “Search Scouting ID“, Enter: First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Zip Code.
Select the matching record from the below drop down.
Select relationship.
Click Save.
If Key 3 is manually adding the parent/guardian:
The second parent/guardian will need to provide Key 3 with their name, date of birth, and membership ID, as well as the Scout's name and date of birth so you can be connected.
